What we store

Short version: you can play the whole game without an account and without us storing anything about you on a server. If you want to appear on the leaderboard, we store your email address and the username you choose. Nothing else.

Playing without an account

The daily challenge, practice puzzles and duels all work with no account. In that mode your scores, streak and settings are saved in your own browser's storage, on your own device. They are never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and nobody else can see them.

If you sign in

Signing in exists for one reason: so that a name on the public leaderboard belongs to someone, and so nobody can post a score pretending to be you.

We store your email address. It identifies your account, and it is how you reset a forgotten password. That is the only email we send — no newsletters, no marketing, nothing you didn't ask for. Your address is never shown to other players — it is not on the leaderboard, not in the page, and not readable by anyone visiting the site.

We store your password, but not in a form anyone can read. It is hashed by our authentication provider before storage, which means even we cannot see it. Please use a password you don't use anywhere else.

Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot your password?" link on the sign-in form and we'll email you a reset link. Reset emails are currently limited to a few per hour across the whole site, so if one doesn't arrive, wait a little and try again — and check spam.

We store the username you choose. This one is public: it appears on the leaderboard next to your score. Choose something that isn't your real name — the game suggests one for exactly this reason.

We store your daily scores: the day, your points, how many you got right, and how long you took.

What we deliberately do not collect

No real name. No date of birth. No age. No phone number. No photographs. No advertising or tracking cookies. There is no advertising on this site and your data is never sold or shared with anyone for marketing.

Visitor numbers

We count page views, using Vercel Web Analytics. It exists so we can tell whether anything we do elsewhere actually brings people here — nothing more.

It uses no cookies and cannot follow you to any other site. Visitors are counted using a scrambled code made from the request itself, which Vercel throws away after 24 hours; your IP address is not stored. What it records is the page you looked at, the site you arrived from, your approximate location, and the sort of device and browser you used.

None of it is attached to your account. If you're signed in, these numbers still can't say it was you — the counting happens separately and knows nothing about accounts, usernames or scores. "Approximate location" means roughly the level of a town or region, worked out from your connection; we never ask for your location and it is never tied to your name on the leaderboard.

Separately, we keep a count of how often the share button is pressed — one line saying that someone copied a result for a given day, and the time. There is nothing in it that could say who: no account, no address, nothing that links one press to another. It is there because word of mouth is the only way anyone finds this game, and we had no way of knowing whether that button was ever used.

If you are under 18

You are welcome here, and the game is designed with you in mind: no account is needed to play, the only public thing is a username you choose, and we ask for nothing that could identify you in real life. Please don't use your real name as your username, and if a parent, carer or teacher wants anything removed, the email address below will do it, no questions asked.

Who else can see it

The database is hosted by Supabase, who store it on our behalf. Site hosting and the visitor counting above are by Vercel. Account emails — password resets and confirmations — are sent through Brevo. None of them uses your data for their own purposes. That's the complete list; there is nobody else in the chain.

Deleting your account

Email the address below and we will delete your account, your username and every score attached to it. There is no waiting period and no form to fill in. Deleting the account removes the scores with it, so your rows vanish from past leaderboards too.
